Reaseheath’s newly formed Canine Student Society held their first very successful public event ‘Wags and Walks’ last weekend. The sponsored dog walk saw dogs and their owners from Nantwich and the surrounding local area follow a trail across campus all carefully planned by the Canine society. Our four legged friends also enjoyed games such as ‘catch the sausage’ to raise money for St. Luke’s Cheshire Hospice, and a fun dog show, to raise money for Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home and Guide Dogs. All in all, a great day was had by everyone and event raised a total of £335 for local charities.
The group of students including, Publicity Officer Nikki Thomas worked exceptionally hard putting together all the marketing material and promoting the event. Alongside this, Amy Joyce (Social Secretary) excelled in getting sponsors for the different categories of the dog show, including well-known companies such as: Petcetera, Lily’s Kitchen and Fish4Dogs.
