Business and Events students raise money for RAG

Business and events students and staff cheque handover

An impressive £2,849 has been raised by Business and Events Management students and staff for this year’s RAG (Raising and Giving) appeal.

The students collected the proceeds from activities they organised as part of their course, ranging from a Christmas fair, a Decades Party and four student social events to raffles and a table top sale. They also organised children’s activities at our Lambing Weekends.

Last week the students handed over a cheque to members of the Student Association which brought the total raised through RAG this year to a record breaking £20,800.

Student Association President Rob Sparkes said: “This was a fantastic effort by the business and events department which has helped us make this year’s RAG really special.”

Yet more money continues to roll in for RAG, which this year goes to Macmillan Cancer Support. The total amount raised will be handed over to the charity tomorrow evening (Tuesday 23rd) before the Student Summer Ball.
