Our business and events management students partnered with with Etsy South Cheshire to organise a Christmas Artisan Market. The festive event took place on Saturday 3rd December in the historic Reaseheath Hall and featured 37 stalls full of handmade and vintage gifts from local designers and makers. Over 300 shoppers attended the event.

The team specifically chose a Saturday for the event to support the campaign ‘Small Business Saturday’, an initiative promoting local independent shopping.  One of our invited guests, Edward Timpson MP for Crewe and Nantwich expressed he was particularly impressed by students’ organisational skills and dedication to supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses through the event.

Aside from all the Christmas goodies on offer students organised a raffle, sold fruit punch and mince pieces, which raised £175 for our RAG (raising and giving) charity North West Cancer Research.

Festive treats ready for shoppers

  • Students also had the chance to visit London before the end of term. They went on a tour of the Houses of Parliament and had the opportunity to meet Antoinette Sandbach, MP for Eddisbury, who shared her experience of working in politics with students. As an extra special treat the day was rounded off with a shopping trip to Harrods!
