Construction go the extra mile!
Recently staff and students from our Construction and Foundation departments successfully climbed to the summit of Snowdon. Andy Gould – Construction programme leader did so carrying an impressive 19kg hod of bricks!
The team, made up of 18 students and 5 staff were led by the expert guidance of their mountain leaders Simon and Jessica from Adventure Sports. The original plan was to climb the Pyg track, a 7 mile round trip with a 2,372ft ascent, unfortunately they weren’t able to do this route so instead took the Watkin path making it an 8 mile round trip with a total ascent of 3,330ft.
The reason for the climb was to raise money for the college RAG charity – The British Heart Foundation. So far the donations for this fundraiser alone stand at a whopping £865! A huge well done to all involved!
There’s still time to show your support to the team and the British Heart Foundation by sponsoring them via Andy’s JustGiving page here.
