Inter-college jujitsu

Jujitsu team meets world boxing champion

Last Saturday, members of the Reaseheath Jujitsu Club took part in an inter club jujitsu course in Oxford. Jujitsu clubs from Chester, Rhyl, London, as well as Oxford took part.

In the evening they held a black tie dinner at Christchurch College, which is part of Oxford University.

Students had the opportunity to attend the dinner, which hosted John Conteh the former world boxing champion, as guest speaker.  A great day and night for all concerned.

It’s been a great year so far, with up to 18 students now attend jujitsu at college each Monday and Wednesday evening and more coming along on a Thursday night for training in Chester too.

By Chris Mann, Jujitsu Club Co-ordinator

Enthusiastic students have excelled in jujitsu training this term, as part of the Reaseheath Jujitsu Club.

Jujitsu Club 2014Every Monday and Wednesday between 14 and 19 students have been attended the club, with some students even going to Chester on a Thursday night for further training – they are a real credit to the college!

Well done to Joe Tunnacliffe and Rob Andrews who have both achieved their orange belts, along with Cameron Redfearn who achieved his yellow belt.

The group have been the most dedicated to date and a pleasure to train, I’m very proud to be running the club and look forward to training with our regular members and new in the new year.
