Foundation students have been gaining valuable employability skills by working towards their John Muir environmental award. The students carried out conservation tasks across three reserves in a work experience programme, delivered by Shropshire Wildlife Trust, which is aimed at giving young people the skills and confidence to enter a career in the countryside industry.
Today I have joined the marketing team as part of my work experience. There were lots of opportunities advertised as part of the Entry level programme. I chose Marketing and had to prepare for an interview. The interview went well although I was nervous.
I was successful and given a chance to work with the Marketing team.
On Thursday 10th December Foundation students took part in a festive Christmas procession completing a one mile course around the college grounds and helped to raise a staggering £112 pounds for RAG!
The students and staff got into the festive spirit of the day by coming dressed for the occasion. Santa’s sledge was seen as well as many of the students asking for generous donations towards the British Heart Foundation charity.
On behalf of all the Foundation team we would like to say thank you and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
