Our foundation department celebrated students’ hard work and commitment to college with an awards afternoon just before the Easter holidays.
Students from all foundation levels were presented with bronze, silver or gold certificates and Easter eggs as an extra incentive during their termly awards ceremony held in the Lord Woolley Centre on campus.
Students were commended by Curriculum Area Manager Lynne Jones for their achievement of good points to recognise progress and hard work in all aspects of their course and general demeanour, and Lynne spoke of how important this was in preparing them for employment once they’ve completed their studies.
A number of students were also recognised for completing work experience placements. Two students, Natasha Phipps and Bradley Fox impressed their work placement employers so much they’ve been offered jobs as a result. Natasha has been offered employment at a dog day care centre and groomers in Northwich, and Bradley will be manufacturing trailers with Harry West Engineering in Preese Heath. This is a fantastic outcome for both students and we have been delighted to see the progress they have made in Foundation that has supported them into paid work.
The students also completed an Easter Egg hunt, an Easter quiz and a variety of team building activities which was a very positive and energetic end to the Spring term.
