Sandside Lodge is a special school catering for pupils aged between two and nineteen who have a statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care Plan. All pupils have learning difficulties and many have additional and complex needs such as autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments.

Seddon Construction are currently in the process of building a new state of the art school that will see students relocated from the current Sandside Lodge site to the new one. As such, Seddon have requested that this year’s RHS Tatton team design a new garden that will act as a safe, sensory space that is suitable for the many different special needs that the school caters for.

Upon completion of RHS Tatton 2017, the show garden designed by this year’s Reaseheath students will be reconstructed at the new Sandside Lodge site so that the current students of the school and future students may enjoy and benefit from it. This will be of great benefit to the school and students as the current site lacks in safe usable outdoor space.
