public services crimewatch June 2016

Student lend a hand to Cheshire Police!

A group of second year public services students supported Cheshire Constabulary in a public disorder scenario/simulation at Cheshire Police Headquarters in Winsford on Friday 17th June 2016.

This scenario was broadcast live during Episode 9 of the Crimewatch Roadshow aired on BBC One. The purpose of this simulation was for the Cheshire Police to demonstrate new technology that they have implemented when dealing with public disorder (riots, protests etc). The technology allows the police to set command zones and implement strategies from external points (providing key information to the ground and instructions to bring the disorder to a positive and safe conclusion) and also to record live evidence that can be used in a court of law if required.
