Friday 15th – Sunday 17th April 2016 saw the AoC Sport National Championships take place in Newcastle upon Tyne where students competed across 15 different sports.

40 trampolinists from across the country represented 11 different regions, with each competitor performing two routines – these marks were then added together to decide the winner.  Georgia finished in first place and was crowned ‘National College Champion’ for 2016.

Reaseheath College Sport Maker, Sarah Ruff, who attended the event with the students said: “Georgia and Rosie were a credit to Reaseheath College and themselves throughout the weekend.  They both did fantastic performances and for Georgia to be crowned national champion for 2016 is a great achievement, well done.”

Head coach Louise Finney added: “I am amazed by the commitment and enthusiasm shown by both Rosie Lucas and Georgia Thomasson who have spent numerous hours training in preparation for this event. Georgia in particular exceeded all expectations and showed herself to be an elite athlete by going on to be crowned National College Champion and led by example in her attitude and commitment to succeed. I am immensely proud of the way they represented both the college and the North West region and they deserve all the recognition they will receive.”
